07/19/2008 - Cincinnati, OH (Baseball Betting) - Joey Votto went 2-for-4 with three runs batted in, highlighted by a two-run triple, as the Reds downed the New York Mets, 7-2, in the third game of a four-game set.
Josh Fogg (2-2) held the Mets to two runs -- one earned -- on eight hits in six innings, with one strikeout and one walk. Adam Dunn had an RBI single and scored twice for the Reds, who have cooled the Mets on back-to-back nights, and have won five of seven.
Oliver Perez (6-6) was touched for three runs -- two earned -- on six hits in six frames, with six strikeouts and three walks to take the loss for New York. Pedro Feliciano gave up four runs on three hits while recording just one out in the seventh, when the Reds pulled away.
David Wright went 3-for-4, homered, and scored twice for New York, which has dropped two straight in Cincinnati after winning 10 in a row.
The game was knotted at 2-2 through 5 1/2 innings, until David Ross came through with a clutch two-out hit in the sixth. Edwin Encarnacion walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch by Perez. Ross, who was 1-for-22 against Perez prior, then lifted a single to right, scoring the go-ahead run.
The Mets had a chance to move back on top in the seventh, but Reds reliever Mike Lincoln held the lead. Lincoln entered with runners at first and second and one out, and surrendered a single to pinch-hitter Argenis Reyes to load the bases. Lincoln rebounded, though, to strike out Wright and Carlos Beltran, both looking, to end the threat.
After blowing a chance to take the lead, the Mets watched the Reds blow the game wide open in the home half of the seventh.
Jeff Keppinger's liner into center was kicked by Beltran, resulting in a double and a run scoring on the error. Dunn's RBI single to right later in the frame gave Cincy a 5-2 lead, and then Votto's fly down the line in right fell just out of the reach of a diving Fernando Tatis, allowing two more runs to score. The triple was the first of Votto's career.
An error by Fogg allowed Wright to score from second after he doubled to left with two outs in the first, giving the Mets the early 1-0 lead. Ken Griffey's RBI double to center in the third scored Fogg from first to knot the game at 1-1.
Wright led off the fourth with his 19th homer of the season, a blast to left, to put the Mets back in front, 2-1. Votto answered with an RBI single in the home half, re-tying the game at 2-2.
Game Notes
Perez hit his first career double in the fifth...Prior to his RBI single in the seventh, Dunn's previous six hits were all homers...The Mets and Reds both collected 10 hits, and both left eight runners on base.

Matt Kenseth And Kevin Harvick Favorites To Take NASCAR Nextel Cup Championship
(September 15)—The NASCAR season has hit the homestretch with the opening event on this year’s Chase for the Cup taking place this weekend at the Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire International Speedway. With 10 races remaining to determine the Cup Series champion, leading online sportsbook MySportsbook.com today announced odds on all 10 Chase qualifying drivers capturing the NASCAR Sprint Cup Championship.
One of the largest sportsbook sites on the Internet, MySportsbook.com currently lists the top two drivers in the point standings as the early favorites to win the Nextel Cup. Entering the Chase for the Cup with a slim five-point lead in the point standings, 2003 NASCAR champ Matt Kenseth has been made a slight favorite to win his second Cup at 7/2 betting odds. 2001 Cup Rookie of the Year Kevin Harvick has betting odds listed at 5/2 and four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon is listed at 6/1 to capture the Nextel Cup this year.
Hoping to follow in the footsteps of his legendary father who won six NASCAR titles, Dale Earnhardt Jr. stands at 8/1 to breakthrough with his first Cup victory. Staying with the family theme, MySportsbook.com lists 2005 Rookie of the Year Kyle Busch at 14/1 to succeed big brother Kurt’s 2004 NASCAR title. While Kasey Kahne was the final driver to qualify for the Chase with a third place finish last week, the oddsmakers give him a fighting chance at 10/1 mainly due to several mile-and-a-half tracks remaining on the schedule. Despite going winless on the NASCAR circuit this season, Jeff Burton enters the Chase at 5/1 to capture the Cup title. Meanwhile, rookie Denny Hamlin is 4/1 to win the championship, while veteran driver Mark Martin enters the Chase for the Cup as a 15/1 long shot to win his first NASCAR title in his 24th and final season.
MySportsbook.com will offer comprehensive Nascar betting lines on every race remaining on the Nextel Cup series including driver match-ups, props and odds to win each race. For a complete list of NASCAR odds, please visit www.MySportsbook.com.
